Daniel L Massawe (MSc, BA) is the CEO and core founder of the Tanzanian based Heights Tour and Travel Limited. He is a well experienced tourism professional, freelance lecturer, consultant in Tourism Industry. He has worked as a lecturer in the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, St. Augustine University of Tanzania since 2011 and a guest lecturer on Event Management, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Cultural Tourism and Tourism Marketing at different other universities and colleges in Tanzania and east Africa. While a lecturer, he headed the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management at St Augustine University of Tanzania, Mwanza Campus.

Prior to his career as an academic, he worked in environment, hospitality, business development and logistic industry. Daniel is a travel researcher and has published and written chapters and articles in the areas of Customer satisfaction, Tourism Marketing, Airline industry, Climate change, Event management, Sustainability and responsible travel experience. He also have a great interest in Farming and Real Estate industry.

Lawrence ( Co-director) is a Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician (WEMT), certainly, the only local with such international training level.
With more than twenty years on tourism industry as a trip leader on Safaris and mountaineering. With his charismatic guiding, he takes pride and passion in offering his clients an authentic and lasting take away -Tanzania experience.

Lawrence has worked with the major local and international tour companies. He is a quality trips organizer, and resourceful logistics manager who is also a practical hands on operator and has a track record of contributing to the overall growth strategy of companies he has worked for. This pushed Lawrence to join hand with his co-director Daniel and establish the Heights Tour and travel Ltd the company which focuses on safety, experienced guides, and interpretative adventures with absolute and real eco-conscious company activities.

Lawrence loves outdoors. He is born for adventure and believes that nature has many crowns, and spreads an irresistible feast for all and that his duty is to share with you.
Originally from the slopes of infamous Mount Kilimanjaro, Lawrence did his BA on Tourism and Hospitality Management after his high school studies with big interest on nature conservancy.

No, we do not charge any extra fees or fuel surcharges. The listed price is the price you pay. Including tax.

We understand that you may not have a printer handy when you’re traveling so it is not necessary to have a printed copy. However, we require that you show ID matching your reservation and also the Order # that is immediately emailed to you after you make your reservation.

Preparation

Wear whatever is comfortable. It is recommended to have a sturdy pair of broken-in trail shoes, boots, or sneakers. It is preferable to dress in layers and wear clothing that will wick away perspiration and keep you dry and comfortable

Not much, remember our trips are all inclusive. We do suggest you bring appropriate clothing to fit the season and a day pack to carry extra snacks and water.

Reservation

You must call 72 hours ahead of your scheduled tour for a full refund. Within 72 hours you will assess a $35 termination fee. There are no refunds for cancellations within 24 hours of your tour, or if you decide not to show up.

Yes. Reservations are required for guaranteed spots on all tours. Reservations help us determine the number of guides we need to ensure that our groups remain manageable and enjoyable, and they allow us to notify you of changes to the tour due to weather or anything that could disturb the tours.

Weather

We do hike in the rain, snow, wind and any other weather conditions that nature decides to throw at us. After all, we’re going on adventures! If the weather is unsafe for any reason, the trip will be changed or postponed. You will be notified the week of your trip if there are changes due to weather.
